The RRA intervened in Downsview and Braeside to remind the Council that they had agreed to change Braside to Monday to Friday and to allow Downsview to have a "Wait and see" policy. The signs were changed in Braeside and the yellow lines painted in Downsview have now been removed. January 2007: KCC placed the "Marie Curie Field of Hope" up for auction. Residents in Braeside area should consider how this may affect their roads and whether it will exacerbate the existing parking problems. We thank our guest speaker Steve Meppem from Community Policing who gave residents several suggestions for dealing with minor local problems Steve will be patrolling our area and we hope you give him any support he requires. Questions and Comments recieved prior to the AGM: In the last month, our house has been hit 3 times by yellow paintballs. As none of our neighbours were affected we decided to contact the police and were given a crime reference. Has the community policing officer been informed of this and have there been any other similar incidents? Middlings Resident News: (SUPERCEDED - see above) We recently recieved some information from Mr Connor regarding the parking regulations. There will be double yellow lines from Lyndhurst Drive as proposed. From the end of the existing double yellow lines just beyond Braeside Avenue to Redlands Road the proposal has been modified to a partial restriction of 7am to 10 am Monday to Friday. There were many concerns raised during the consultation about the likelihood of displacement parking. This will be monitored and further measures will then be considered if necessary. It could take 2 to 3 months before the lines are installed, due to the legal procedings and the need to appoint a new Senior Traffic Engineer. UPDATE: Philip Runacres our Chairman has spoken to Sevenoaks District Council and they have advised us that in the light of the response to their proposals they have modified their plans and proposed the new "no waiting" from Brittains Lane up to Redlands Road will now only be a single yellow line with timed restrictions. This work will be completed in about 2 months time. We will let you know the final details of this when it becomes available. New Parking Regulations: Sevenoaks District Council is proposing to put double yellow lines on both sides of Brittains Lane from London Road to just beyond Redlands Road. If you would like to object or suggest alternatives please write, before 20th April, to the Stategic Services Director, Sevenoaks Highways Unit, Council Offices, Argyle Road, Sevenoaks, TN13 1HG .................................................................................................................... The lorry uprooted a tree and caused a serious road blockage close to where the road narrows. Local police were involved in the clear-up operation, and residents were diverted. Fortunately nobody was injured, but there was a near miss when the tree almost hit a driver's bonnet.
